The Soil We Grow From
We are Majken and Emanuel.
A Danish–Swedish duo, partners in life, and parents to three wild, curious souls: Elo, Kaja, and Liv. Earth is our home, and Switzerland is the land we are rooted in. The mountains, rivers, and wild abundance of the Alps shape how we live, dream, and build. We have always been big dreamers—but also “naive and practical” enough to make those dreams real.
We Are Vilde
I am an islander. Born on a Danish island shaped by water, stone, and movement—on horseback, dancing, and leaping from rock to rock. With a restless curiosity and nomadic roots, I ventured out into the world.
I moved through different cultures, startups, and digital worlds, drawn to their impact and blank canvas to shape from. As an original gangster at On, I helped build its digital foundations from scratch through IPO—while being known for questioning and challenging toward deeper impact.
Vilde is my response: not a project, but a living organism. As a parent to three wild souls, I am on a mission to weave us back into the web of life—to build as nature and rewild us all.
Majken Rønne
Growing up with summer adventures in the Stockholm archipelago and winter adventures in the Jämtland mountains shaped my love for the ocean and the wild. Later, "failing beautifully" at football led me to youth activism, where I realized: whether we like it or not, companies shape our world. So, I stepped inside to learn and change from within.
After years leading global brands like Toblerone and co-founding CaPao, with a mission to rescue and reimagine the wonderfruit cacao, I no longer wanted to fix a broken system, but contribute to building a new one. Vilde is that contribution—a living lab to make big ideas habitable.
I’m an apprentice in the art (and chaos) of parenthood, and a lover of adventures big and small—in nature and within the soul—that make me feel truly alive.
Emanuel Gävert
We met in 2004 while working for an international NGO. When the first seed of Vilde appeared, we imagined it would be a project about solving climate change. But slowly we realized… Even if the climate crisis is solved technically…
Humans may still feel disconnected. More-than-human life may still disappear. And we may still lack a true home—for ourselves and for the ecosystems we depend on.
The Origin
Less carbon is not enough if there is no
belonging
And it’s not enough if there is not enough Earth left to belong to.
We also felt constrained by the “design flaws” of today’s systems—trying to patch problems that were caused by broken designs in the first place. We wanted Vilde to design from the future, rather than just fixing the past.
The Vilde Collective
The Vilde Collective
We work with imaginative architects, conservationists, engineers, and designers to bring this living organism into being.

Nickisch Walder Architekten
From Flims, Georg Nickisch and Selina Walder create radical, grounded architecture. Their work—including Refugi Lieptgas and the Matterhorn Base Camp—translates wild landscapes into built form.
-

Art into Acres
A non-profit dedicated to large-scale, permanent land conservation. Land conservationist and artist, Haley Mellin, help us identify and protect high-biodiversity ecosystems so they can remain wild forever.
-

Anne Lutz
A creative and curious designer shaping the visual universe of Vilde so it feels wondrous and like a living organism—like the experiments themselves.
-

ASC Impact
Restores degraded ecosystems across Global South through forestry, agriculture, and local community.
